prussian police markings
I have a 1918 erfurt that was fitted with a mag safety,
only one mag #'d 1 stamped with the # of the pistol and a little star or sun burst {aluminum base}. I was told this was a prussian police pistol. Does any one know what marking would be found on a pistol of that type? regards, jeff |

Re: prussian police markings
Jeff
Police equipment of the Weimar period were marked with a letter, often a K and then a sunburst. This was a police acceptance mark. These marks are also found on the spine of the police bayonets. During the Nazi period the sunburst was changed to an eagle with a letter next to it. Luger magazines are marked with the letter and either the sinburst or the eagle. |
