Portuguese M2 Shooter purchase
A few days back I purchased a Portuguese M2, finding ammo was challenging but got a box of Fiocchi and PPU.
The pistol and holster look really nice, it has been reblued and barrel has been replaced with a Portuguese barrel. Came with 4 magazines 1 original?, 1 WWII, 2 new Mec Gar along with cleaning rod(incorrect) and grips(incorrect). Original wood grips are cracked on the right panel, possible to repair but more probable a replacement choice. The xtra new grips that came along with it are not cut for the grip safety so they may not be usable. Holster is black and marked AE and is in very nice condition. Yes this is a shooter as least for me. It would not cycle the Fiocchi but ran well with 25 rounds of the PPU. Best 5 round group at 50ft or 17mtrs was about 3 inches fired standing with one hand. So that's the good looks like it'll need a few more $$ put into it to make it a better, more reliable, and safer shooter. Lugerman's shop is about a mile down the road so I had Eugene take a look at it and get his recommendations. All in all I'm happy with my 110 year old pistol. I get some photos soon for all to enjoy. Frankly I could not have made the deal without having all the info available here at the forum. Cheers, Bill |

Sounds promising.
The right grip panel is the same as on other lugers, the left is the one that is different. You have confirmed that Fiocchi .30 luger does not reliably function in most lugers today; but PPU does. Would be an easy thing for Fiocchi to "fix", one must wonder why they don't- I suspect they have had the "problem" reported, but then maybe not?

If they had a million rounds ready to ship before the 'fix', how long would it take before we received the 'fixed' rounds???

Good question to ask Fiocchi, but not me- I have no idea!

Congratulations on your purchase. I also have an M2 shooter and it is one of my most reliable Parabellums, like yours it prefers PPU. I replaced the grips on mine, using a dremel tool to modify a standard pair of repro grips to accommodate the grip safety. I also spruced up the appearance a bit.

Hi 4 Scale wasn't looking for an M2 but I do like the proportions of the 4 3/4 slender .30 luger barrel, maybe a Swiss will turn up in the future.
I may try my hand at modifying the repro grips to save a few dollars. Pictures soon I promise. |

I wondered about that. They market a full line of Luger grips.
But knowing Eugene a promised 2 week delivery might take a year and a half... dju |

Aye that on Eugene horror stories, he's got quite an operation going on. My gut feeling is he won't burn ya.
