Default old Luger no date need help

Hi could someone please help me figure out what i got
it has just the DWM marking on the top, no date or any other markings
bottom side of barrel is a small crown with an N under it below that is the serial number 6101 and below that look like a script lower case L
all metal parts are numbered 01 except the wood grips and magazine (no numbers on these)
on left side of barrel above the takedown is another crown and N
right side of barrel has no markings at all
the crown N is also in a couple other spots

NOW the really strange thing on left side German writing for safety GESICHERT standard but on the other side very small towards top is GERMANY (in english)
minor bluing issues but inside looks really clean no rust.

I would like to know if anyone of you experts know what i have

I would be very curious to know appx age history and value, please let me know if you need any more info
thanks in advance
Joe

It is a commercial luger, made in the 1920's or so, can't see the serial number or suffix

likely in 7.65mm and not 9mm luger (see if a pencil fits down the tube, if yes, then 9mm)

value would be around $800-$1100 - commercials, even in very nice shape don't sell for as much

Looks like a .30 cal "Alphabet Commercial" manufactured by DWM in 1923 for export sale.

Thank you for sharing your good fortune. Hang onto it, as you don't find them that nice very often. Best regards, BW.

The price Ed gave you of $800-1100 is about right for around here. Commercials in 30 cal. are slow sellers at least here. Nice looking luger anyway!!. Bill

Thanks Bill (and Ed) I assumed that was retail. So that's nice to hear did not realize it was worth that much. By the way clean and shiny inside no rust at all
Thanks again

Very nice clean piece. It's worth keeping - at least until you decide which direction your collecting will take. Then you might trade it for something that fits your interests.
