Post Gun Show question

Has anyone heard about an "accidential" shot being fired at the Atlanta Gun Show? Unless my old ears are playing tricks with me, I thought that I heard a partial news report on CBS about a boy being shot and has since died. I hope that I'm mistaken.

Thanks for the info. How terrable! I personaly witnessed two firings at gun shows. One many years ago, about 30, at a Columbus Show. A table holder was messing with a rusted loaded .22 rifle and shot himself in the leg. The other was at a Presque Isle, PA show, when a fellow walked up to a table, picked up a pistol, pulled the trigger and it fired. Lucky for all it was aimed toward the ceiling. He shot a hole through the roof. The show promoters have to be ultra carefull, otherwise there will be no shows. Just like NJ!

At the Houston Gun collectors show many years ago an accidental discharge caused the membership to ban all ammunition from the Show foreverafter. Sad to see. Sorry some young man had to lose his life over some idiot that didn't have enough sense to clear the weapon. Well, you gotta consider that they let anyone with $6.00 into the gun show. Jerry Burney

Back in the late 80s there were excellent gun shows here in Huntsville, some guy left the show, was in the hallway reloading is 9mm and shot himself, serious but not fatal. Nomore gunshows here. In nearby Athens Al a dealer shot his grown son with a .38 in the foot this year. Probably won't be any more there either. Too risky and too many idiots.

Last year at a Las Vagas, I went to help a friend look at and perhaps buy a P-38, I asked a seller if I could examen one of his, he had several on the table. As I removed the clip, can you imagin my horror, as it was fully loaded, the dealed quickly grabed the gun and clip and said it was loaded for portection on the road trip there, and he forgot it was loaded, no there was not a round in the chamber. The gun show securiy was more interested in my gun in my pack pack then the dealer....we just left the show in.

Nine or ten years ago, when I had a dealer's license, I set up for a show at the International Convention Center on Sullivan Road in Atlanta. During the show a shot was fired and it was purely good luck that no one was hurt. The dealer at whose table the shot was fired was ordered to pack up and leave immediately. In all my years of attending gun shows, that's the only incident I've witnessed. It's still one too many.

The radio announcer just reported that evidence involving the weekend gun show shooting has been tampered with, according to police. It's also being reported that it's still viewed as a tragic accident and not an intentional shooting.

Red face

What a dummy butt?

A shame, everyone should be checked and NO-ONE should be allowed to have guns loaded at a show.

If they are caught, then they should be suspended from the shows.

That is why security is hired for gun shows, not an untrained jokester. I know, half the guys will say, oh I'm trained... I sure as he** don't want my guns taken away like Tacfoley's, I can't imagine turning them in to become scrap heaps or desk ornaments.
