Unit mark fever!!
I am hoplessly hooked. Thought I would share my affliction.
1917 Artillery. 164th Infantry Reg.,1st Company, weapon #1 1911 Erfurt. 12th Train-Battalion,3rd Sanitats Co. Weapon #223. X'd out 108th Saxon Fusiliers Reg. Honor name "Prince George" 2nd Co. weapon #19. X'd out. 98th Infantry Reg. 8th Co. Weapon #11 1908 1st Issue. 12th Jaeger Reg. Staff pistol (no Co.#) weapon #10. Of a data base of 853 unit marked pistols. Only 15 are Jaeger marked. A very rare mark. As per Jan Still.

Very sweet and nice guns!
I like how you bolded the wording so it was easier to read! Ed

Continued..
1921 Reichswehr (Army) Only approx. 10,000 out of 50,000 went to the Army. All others were Police issue. 15th Co. 3rd Artillery Reg. Weapon # 53 Another 1921 Reichwehr(Army issue). 2nd Eskadron, 1st Reiter (cavalry) Reg. weapon # 46. A another very rare unit mark. As per Mr Still. I also have a 99th Infantry marked 1914 DWM, that is presently visiting "Thor" for alittle expert therapy. Just thought I would share my affliction with those members who share it. Ron

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the compliments. I figure when I get 100 pistols, I'll start looking for #101.

Al is it on a pistol? If so, is it on the grip strap? I will have to wait until I get home this evening to look it up. Will get back to you if I find it.
Ron

Ron,
Quite interesting! I have a 1911 Erfurt SN 2607 marked 12 T.S.1.205 (12 Train Battalion 1st Sanitat Co. weapon #205) which has been "X" out and remarked 102.R.61 (102 Inf. Reg, 6th Co, weapon #1). This gun was formerly owned by Jan Still, and is featured in his 1999 calender.

Jimmie and Hugh, It's kind of interesting to think about where these 1911s were. And to think that they could have been in the same room together at some point 90 years ago.
Pete, I have a 98th Infantry unit marked 1915 dated holster for the 1911. And have proper dated holsters for all, but the 1914 that Ted is fixing for me. That's why I was hot after the 1914 that was on ebay, that went for $300+. Too rich for my wallet. The 1914 came in a scarce 6th Dragoon 1910 dated holster. Jan Still has a matching pistol. And wanted the holster. I would be interested in what you find. Ron

Al, I can't find a reference for the C.E.I marking. If the C is actually a G. It could change the whole picture. Can you post photo of the marking?
Ron

Thanks Ron--I posted some pics for you and hope to get some clearer ones today. This pistol was taken off a German soldier and is part of a display I'm researching for a museum.--Al

Those Lugers of yours look like butt-naked ladies... Pete, I think the proper term is BUCK naked. If the Lady is disrobed, it stands to reason her butt is naked. If what you say is true, you are in serious need of a therapist! Seek help! Luger Porn...What will we think of next? Where does it end?
Seriously, Nice display Ron...Thanks for sharing. Jerry Burney

I am not completely "hooked" on unit ID Lugers, but I do find them fascinating. Here are a couple I have that you might enjoy.
