New 1900AE & a question

I recently puchased a matching 1900 American Eagle in very good condition. The magazine has been repaired with an aluminum base. I have included a couple of pictures below. Any comments are welcome. I do need a little advice. The extractor seems to be stuck. I can move it a bit, but not fully. Any ideas for fixing this? I sure don't want to force it and damage the extractor.

The serial is 8358, Germany stamped on the receiver,

It does not look to have been refinished. Here are the pictures without the links. Thus far the AE checks with all my references in terms of serials and features.

I like it, I picked up a reblued 1900 AE last weekend and a 1906 AE 9mm

Nice pistol, The extractor on your 1900 does not articulate like the one on the 1906. I may be incorrect but the extractor is a spring itself and does not have to move as much as the 1906 extractor. As I recall they were prone to breakage that is why the extraction system was modified and improved. You are fortunate to own such a fine specimen. Craig

Hal, nice early 1900 AE that's obviously "been there and done that". It has the early cross hatched safety lever and narrow grip safety. The later grooved safety lever and wide grip safety came in around serial number 10,000. Definitely not refinished IMO.

Thanks for the kind words and feedback. It is always nice when a new Luger is what you hoped it to be. I purchased it via Gunbroker and you always take chance when you cannot physically inspect the gun.

Nice gun. Regarding gunbroker.com, 3-day inspection is like Ford's warranty, which could be very useful (in my experience). And this seller does offer 3-day inspection period.

I agree the seller was very good and accurately described the gun. I have to return guns in past to other sellers and there is always inconvenience and expense. I have had good experiences with both Gunboker and AuctionArms, but always am happy to see the genuine article!

Another question - senior moment, forgot to ask earlier

The AE has a flaming bomb proof mark in the well of the bolt stop near the front of the frame. Is this unusual? Wish I had a picture, but don't have the gun with me right now. Thanks

The flaming bomb is an inspectors mark and is not unusual for M1900's.

I might add that the "flaming bomb" mark of which you speak is also ONLY a manufacturing inspection mark, and not the U.S. Ordnance marking that is similar. NICE GUN!
