Come on guys!! He means that one "3" matches all the other "3"s, one "4" matches all the other "4"s and so on. It's so obvious, I am surprised you missed it!! <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" />

OK guys, I'm feeling really stupid here. What doesn't match? I can't see all the numbers very clearly, but the only serial numbers I can see that don't look like a "32" is the "76" on the side of the frame, which is the first two digits of the serial number. Guess I assume that the full serial number is 7632 and the parts match.

Most likely you are right, Ron, all I see is what you do. Difference in perspectives is all.

Suddenly the light dawns. I got so busy looking for mis-matched parts I didn't consider the non-matching magazine, which is probably what you were pointing out. I can be a bit thick at times. Guess I have been collecting too long and seen too many forced-matched magazines that I don't give un-matched magazines much thought.

Ron, I could sit out here and let this go, but I just can't do that to you. I did mean the serial number and the side plate. My extremely limited experience led me to believe the parts were not matching. I did not know that the side plate covered up the rest of the number. Makes sense that it would or it would be a two digit serial number. Sorry for being such a dumba**, and there's nothing like putting it on an internet forum for the whole world to see. Doesn't look like I was the only one though. And this was NOT a set up.

Hmm, yah, gotta fess. The only ones I've seen had the entire serial stamped on the side next to the plate.

Geez guys, don't beat yourself up. I missed it the first time I looked too, and then I realized the toggle was locked back and all I was seeing was part of the serial number on the receiver that wasn't covered by the side plate. I even had to look at the books to make sure that a dated S/42 had the serial number stamped that far back on the receiver so that it would be covered. I'm no expert either and I thought I was missing something. A good learning experience for us all - and that's what it's all about.
