More Luger magazine art from G.T.
Since I had my camera out, I thought I'd take a few photos of two MecGar magazines that G.T. was kind enough to modify recently.
His work was to replace the black plastic base with aluminum bases. The more-shiny base is machined, the less-shiny is cast. He improved the springs too. These magazines look and shoot great and as it is impossible to have too many pictures of Lugers or their parts, I thought I'd post 'em. Included in the first photo for reference are two original magazines, a nicer blued and numbered variant, and a lower condition S/42. They flank the modified MecGars in the middle. I have wondered what a brand new P.08 looked like when it left the factory in the 1930s or 1940s. While I may never know that, thanks to G.T. I now have a pretty good idea of what a brand-new magazine base looked like. Thanks again G.T., I am so impressed I wanted to share photos. |

I have a couple of these aluminum bases and they are excellent. Look nice on your luger mags!
