Luger name prounciation?
SO is it Gay-org Luger or George? And if Gay-org is George in Austrian, why not just call him George, like in Curious George. Or do people just want to sound cool and different? I called him George since 1969.

If someone is called William, you're not going to call him Fred, now, do you?
His first name is and was 'Georg'. Plain and simple. The world is larger than the US, and, surprise, they speak many different languages. Most who had to deal with Mr. Luger on a business level probably called him something else. He was not a nice guy to work with |

Being a 'George' you hear it all sorts of ways in the world. Just don't call me late for dinner.

Although I am somewhat of a Yankee fan, it always annoyed me to hear Joe Torre call Jorge Posada "Georgie"...[jor-gee]...
...Instead of Jorge [hor-hay]... It always reminded me of the scene in "Pulp Fiction" where Clarence says "English, [deleted]!!! Do you speak it???"...

You are correct, and also note there is no "e" on the end of Georg Luger's first name...further verification that it is Gay-org.
