1938 Mauser S/42 9mm Luger
I reload ammo. Does anyone know the muzzle velocity and weight of the bullets used in 1938. ( Or about that period of time )
Thanks, Wally |

From a multitude of original German Text sources, 123 grain bullet @ 1,076 fps. O.A.L. was 1.173 for the round nose bullets (most important for jam-free operation). To duplicate this load load try ; Winchester Commercial Brass. Remington 1 1/2 Pistol Primers. Hornady 124 Grain Round Nose Bullets at 1.169 to 1.173 inches O.A.L. Power Pistol Powder at 5.1 to 5.5 grains (5.4 has been best for me). Also, in the SHOOTING & RELOADING section of this forum, please find my sticky on "Determining Proper Cartridge O.A. L." for insights into this vital Luger Shooting area. Hope this helps! Sieger |
