Default 1916 Artillery DWM luger frame with lug ground off no more -

Well, the 1916 Artillery DWM luger frame was in the mailbox on Saturday, I can’t say enough about Charles Danner, Esquire, and restorer extraordinaire! CD did a magnificent job detailing the luger frame that had the stock lug poorly ground off. The grinding had gone all the way thru the handle in one place, bad. As you can see from the photos, Pistol Bill (heidiho1@charter.net), machinist, and Charles Danner (931-433-3276), finisher, completed this restoration with awe-inspiring results. CD had a 10 day turnaround! The piece was already in excellent condition with 98+ on the bluing, and only the frame and side plate has been re-finished. I can't stop staring at it!.

Default Original grips with Hugh Clark for boken tang repair.

Hugh has the original grips and I am waiting with baited breath for their return. These grips are temporary and are made in Thailand. (39 bucks on eBay.) I don't think they look too bad, though. Btw,they don't look too fat in person.

I was the only bidder for this when it sold on GB for the reserve price of 1.1k and I thought the pristine upper was worth that; now I have about ~1.6k in it and I am delighted! On other thing, this piece has all matching parts, except for the mag base.

One last thing: I am going to attach my 9mm YHM Phantom suppressor and stock on this rig and take it to the range and see what kind of reaction I get. I have a muzzle coupler purchased from DAQ that fits nicely and is more symmetric to the muzzle than Mark McWillis at TROSUSA swears is not possible. One great thing about the Luger, the shooter can look directly down the bore and see if the baffles are in alignment with the bore. pictures soon.

Default Beautiful work!

That is simply a beautiful job. I had heard great things about Danner, and I'm glad to see the finished product completely justifies them. KW

Hi,

You are right!!

The same guy that ground your Luger, must have been the one that ground all of the Arisaka rifles, a true artist!!!
