I have a 1906 commercial DWM Luger, 9mm. Its serial number 589XX and has no stock lug. Im not a collector and wanted to trade for a sig p229, I just wanted to get a few opinions on whether or not i should or could trade. Thanks in advance

I would not trade the Luger (for anything). But, instead, buy the Sig separately to shoot keeping the Luger for its value and history.

Kevon, what does a SIG cost?
I would imagine there are a few members here who would reimburse you for the cost for the SIG (as a trade). Whatever you do, don't go to the gun shop and try to trade them for the SIG, you'll get ripped (they gotta make a profit, so they'll give you less on the deal all around). ed weimar_lugers@verizon.net |

I had a SIG 239 .40S&W in the past. Originally, I had planned to buy a 229, but I found the grip was too big for my hand. Under recommendation of sales, "239 should be fine, even woman could hold it."..... although I still felt the grip was big, but should I admit my hand being smaller than a woman? So I bought it. It's a solid gun. But after shooting a few boxes, I felt uncomfortable with the size of the grip so I sold it later. If I remembered right, it's $500-$600, super range performer. 228/229 should not be too far away. I always prefer SIG over Glock. The only shortcoming is the grip size.

The only SIG that I would trade a luger for is a P210, assuming the P210 being more valuable than said Luger.
