Hello - I'm trying to determine what type of Luger I have - it was my dad's and he got it in Germany - there are markings, etc. Could you help?

Wakeenee, your post probably will be moved to the New members section as there are other posts like this there. As far as type of variation, and other information, we need to either(or both) see a detailed description of condition, proof marks and other identifying attributes or pictures that detail those features of your Luger. (Borrowing from anther post in that section....)
Your gun's currrent market value is dependent on its rarity, market demand for the model you have, original condition, any accompanying accessories and often its proveable history... There are Luger Identification sheets in the Technical information pages of this website. when you have collected all the information asked for on these sheets, post the information here, (photographs are optional but encouraged and helpful) and you will be pleasantly surprised to know that those members who can educate you about its origins, history and current value will be glad to help you. Luger Markings Section-Click Here OR Link To Luger identification Sheets-Click Here All of which can be accessed through www.Lugerforum.com Good Luck!

Thor, I'd move it, but you can't move part of a posting, just the entire thread. So, unless John D or S goes in and manually changes it, then it'll stay here. Moved to the New Member Forum by Admin-JS
So, it is best to start a new thread if possible, <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> As Ted said, welcome to the forum, we would be glad to help ID your Luger, pick a section and start a New Post and if it is determined that it is in the "wrong" area, I will be glad to move it, but also as Ted said (doesn't that just ring, almost better than Thor's Lore), than the best section is the "New Member" section. I am very interested in bring back stories and would love to hear your Dad's! Ed
