I had a stock like that but sold it on GunBroker a few years ago. Kinda wish I kept it now that I see how good it looks attached to an Arty w/drum.

It's a repro??? Is it an actual copy of an existing (or existed at one time) stock/holster, or is it a 'fantasy' rendition of what an artillery stock might have looked like??? I've never seen anything like it...but then I've never handled an actual artillery Luger either...

Don't know for sure Bill, but it's reproduced from an original German prototype that never went into production.

George can't leave anything alone, he has this drive to improve things. He added the felt to protect the finish on his gun and to make it fit snug, next he added the take down tool and last he had Jerry Burney make him a Swiss strap to remove the gun from the holster. George and I start out even, but the next thing I know, I have the standard issue and George has the deluxe one....

Bill, in answer to your legality question... I think the true answer is that no one that I know has ever made a test case of this combination with the BATFE... I would hope that this 5-letter organization would use some common sense... since this is a repro of a prototype... I would love to see copies of the original blueprints of the prototype stock. That would be provenance to keep BATFE off the owner's back...

Hi John, Blueprints, and photos of surviving examples of prototype stocks are shown in the new Görtz/Sturgess book,"Pistole Parabellum", pages 1331 through 1338. Best regards, Norm

Although extremely rare, there are enough surviving examples of the prototype stock to establish provenance for the repros. The biggest fly in the ointment is finding a prototype 1913 LP08 to go with it
