Basic GTS/T-4 shooter complete!
Hello to all! Well, here's the most basic of my GTS/T barreled receiver offerings... I actually only had the barrel rust blued, the rest is original finish (old re-blue there as well?).. This particular unit is important to me because other then improving the finish, rust blue, re-straw small parts, etc. This is the final design I'm going to pursue...
Although I am going to sell the top half only, I spend a lot of time on un-seen improvements on the rest of the tune up, such as trigger timing, side plate tightening, correct springs, and basically just squaring the gun up..... .. The barrel is 4" and the front sight is the 1906 type Luger cut, and it went together perfectly on a 1920 receiver.. The frame ass'y I used is an Erfurt "00" of un-known vintage, and just fit the receiver perfectly, your frame can be any original pre 1945 frame, as I've been advised that a customer supplied frame is the best route for me to go!!!! ... I will also included the GTHQ mag upgrades and the mag will be part of the overall package!... The only item, other than the frame, that I can't supply, is my one and only "butterscotch" colored HK type of grips! Only set I've ever seen, they are repro, but almost impossible to tell? Anyway, they have now found a home on this unit.... Future recommended grips will probably be VOPO or Black Widow type just for the sake of tight fit and longevity... Anyway, I will be selling the TOP HALF ONLY for 1K, and I will take orders for next year starting now, the fourth of July weekend.. what better day to roll out a new accessory! Pictures are courtesy Ed Tinker... Best to all, and an on-going thanks to my friends and customers on this forum! til.....lat'r.....GT...... Last edited by G.T.; 07-02-2016 at 11:10 PM. |

Can you fit this to an existing gun without modifying the frame or the sideplate and its contents, so as to retain compatibility with its original upper?

Hi Michael!
Yes! Actually, the barrel will come as a complete receiver assembly, and if the frame is set up for 9MM, it should slide right in and work great! Although occasionally you find a frame / receiver match that is too tight, most of the time they slide right together and work fine.... The trigger / lock work is an area that is more problematic? But if both halves are correct, (in spec.) they should work fine?... ... Best to all, til...lat'r.....GT

I will take better pictures tomorrow in the light.
I first talked to GT about a 4 inch bull barrel I had. I had bought this off of Ebay probably 12-14 years ago. Gentleman had obtained a number of these 4 and 6 inch round barrels from the factory (Mauser I assumed) and I was only lucky on getting one. It was already rifled in 9mm and basic making of the chamber and rear had the screw in done for the barrel. I might be remembering wrong because I sent it to GT and asked him if he could put it onto a receiver I had. In talking back and forth, he asked if I wanted a boring bull barrel on it. I asked what he had in mind and him and Olle came up with the GT Special shown here. I mentioned I would love a 6 inch and thus he again made a number of 4 & 6 inches - the 6 inch is shown here. Great shooters, very little recoil, I love them! Ed Last edited by Edward Tinker; 07-04-2016 at 04:07 PM. |

Ed,
from what I can see of your pistol rack it looks like your Lugers are well supported, would you please show a few more photos? A couple that I made just didn't seem to give enough support and a slight jar would cause them to fall against each other. I prefer to leave the mags in place so an insert into the mag well is out of the question. Thanks, Lon |

Lon, I can, I have two types of sets - will show both on another thread.
The ones I show here, I did a very small favor for a friend, who happened to be a carpenter and he made these for me - (2) of them, one is for just Lugers, the 2nd is a couple Lugers, Nambu and two slots for 1911's. He said if he made them for sale, he'd have to charge $200+ for the time put in them. I will go upstairs and take pictures. Ed |

Well, as long as we're showing GT barrels, here is my "special" 5" barrel, for those who can't decide between 4 or 6!
I can't decide whether or not to blue the barre;/receiver; but likely will have it rust blued for "protection". It now has an adjustable rear sight and tall patridge front sight, if all checks out at the range, pictures and results will be posted later this week.

Maybe I can fumble my way through turning out a couple of them. Lon |
