Post Museums in Switzerland

I am traveling to Zurich on business and am interested in seeing the lugers from the old Bern factory. I understand that there is a museum in Morges with some lugers - but also the Armeemuseum in Thun.

I would like to try and visit these -- any experience or suggestions. From the looks of the Thumn website -- it sems only groups are allowed.

Any help or info would be appreciated.

Thanks for letting me join.

Welcome to the Lugerforum Mike. I am fairly certain that at least two members have visited the Bern Museum... Mauro Baudino and Albert Beliard...

Hopefully they will check in today and be able to advise you...

Anyone else who has been to any of these museums, please take a moment and advise Mike on the best 'Luger' places to go while in Switzerland...

Hello Mike,

In 1996, I had the opportunity to visit the Bern museum collection and photograph a variety of rare pistols including the Borchardt-Luger serial #5 which is shown on my web site hereunder. The information which I received last year was that the collection was probably relocated to the Museum RUAG land Systems which is located at Allmendstrasse 86, CH-3602 Thun. You can contact the company at +41 (33) 228-2019. If you need any additional information, you can contact me at imperialarms@att.net

Enjoy your trip to Switzerland, and do not drool over the B/L pistol.

Cheers,
Albert

P.S John, are you watching how often I check the Luger Forum? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
