Tony, In my humble opinion, this appears to be the real thing and is priced a little bit below the market. Condition is everything, as you can see by viewing the ones posted by Simpson LTD. Most fastidious collectors would shy away from this but the price is reasonable for a representative piece. The question is whether one could get more for it if restored by the likes of Ted Greene (Thor on the Forum). I would think so. There are currently two restored 1902 AE fat barrels listed on the now going Rock Island Auction (Lots 2008 ansd 2014) asking range $4K - $7K. So if you can buy this puppy for $2.6K, pay the fee for restoration (unknown to me), you might come out ahead. That would be if you are in this to make money. All this is my $0.02 cents worth, I'm looking forward to other opinions.

I was offered this pistol when it first surfaced. I believe that it is legit. I told the seller I would pay $1600 for it. My plans were to have Ted restore it.

The pics that are shown in the website were taken with a very low resolution camera. I have to wait until I get the gun to see how bad really is. I got several pics from the seller (see sample below) and the gun finish does not look too bad. I think that $1600 was a bit too low to offer for a "Fat Barrel" especially when re-blues go for at least $4K.
George, you got the 1914 that I could have (I offered him $1500) and I got the "Fat Barrel" that I never thought I could have. At the end, it all works out and I am glad that we are both happy. In addition, the seller was very accommodating for payment purposes, which made things a lot easier for me.
I will post pics of it when I get it.
Thanks, Tony
