I appreciate your posting these, but honestly I don't see any difference except the holster and the magazine bottom. I'm a new guy, could you point out the important differences?

There are no big differences, if you could see the markings and numbering- that is where you could see differences.

Whoa there, big fella! I took Bill's post to be a good-natured ribbing of your picture posts! I like your pics and wish you'd do more detailed photo disassembly essays of your little-known Lugers (the Fat Man, for example).

Close-ups of proofs, inspectors stamps, machine tool markings, the inside of the inner workings are especially interesting, of the older rarer Lugers...Did you notice that there are inspection stamps inside the magazine well???

Eric, According to Kenyon's Lugers at Random, your commerical with the horizonal C/N proofing, would be classified as a M1914 commerical and should be in the 71500 to 73500 serial range. Only about 2,000 of these made. TH

Tom, 1914 commercials have a stock lug. Eric's pistol is a second proof type 1908 commercial.

Nice. Does it have the private marking inside the magwell, and did it come with an unmarked commmercial mag?

Default It Is A Unmarked Commercial Magazine~

I was wondering, what is rarer and more valuable or rarer? Commercial or Military?
