Default Neighbor is asking 600

I have a neighbor that's wanting to sell this pistol for $600. Other than wanting a Luger since I was kid, I know very little about these firearms. I invite your comments.

Well worth the $600 for a shooter, if the bore is good.
If the numbers all match, it is a "collectable" luger.

I'd buy it!

Nice patina, sharp edges, numbers look good.

A nice honest 1940 Mauser Luger.

I would run to give him the $600.

From the photos it looks all matching. Whether it all matches or not well worth in excess of $600. I would pay that in a heartbeat and quickly. Bill.

I whole- heartedly agree with all the above comments, I doubt very seriuosly if you will ever have the chance again to buy a 1940/42 Mauser for anywhere near that price..

Run. Do not walk to buy it.

This is something you should be buying right now! Lugers don't come up at that price often these days and, even if just a mismatched shooter, it's under market value (they often run $800-1000 for shooters at some places here) and if it's all matching, well... $600 is a darn good deal!

Buy it, buy it, buy it, buy it....! Did I mention you should buy it? If not let me emphasize, buy it. You aren't likely to get another chance at a similar piece.

It's little late now. I go over tomorrow. I was thinking it was in nice shape for a 75 year old pistol. Thank a ton for your input. I have more pics. I'll get them up asap. anyone know any specific about what they see? all numbers match cept there is no number on the aluminum mag base. bore looks fine from what I could see. I'll take a light tomorrow.

There is not much that can be added, it looks like a bargain to me, in any case.

Let us know if you managed to get it.

rhuff, It basically fell on to my lap. He told me what he wanted for it. I suggested he go online and see what they were selling for and gave him a few websites. I mentioned that I thought it was worth a lot more than he was asking. I gave him a few days to look it up. The price didn't change so....SOLD AMERICAN!
Will do DonVoigt, maybe this evening. Took the barrel and toggle assembly off during lunch. Looks good and any numbers I have seen so far, match.

You have righteous neighbor!
You'll be surprised how much you can learn about your Luger.
