Default Front sight alternatives?

Since I don’t normally shoot my lugers at 50 meters I would like a taller front sight. I have equipped two of my shooters with sights made from the Brownells Mauser sight blank but this required a lot of careful filing and fitting. As I recall, the P38 sight and K98 sight fit the Luger sight dovetail but are they tall enough?

I measure a standard Luger sight at .215 above sight base. My “custom made” sight for a shooter, point of aim at 50 feet, is .245 high. Advice? Other possibilites?

I used a K98 sight blade in a Navy Luger that was printing VERY high. Got it from LugerDoc. There are extra tall K98 sight blades out there, just do a google search.
