Ku Luger
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just picked up a 41/42 Ku Luger along with the capture paper from the Vet who brought it back. This Luger is in excellent condition. With all matching serial numbers including the grips. It also came with a shoulder holster. I'm not convinced this is orginal to the pistol. I know this is one of the more controversial Lugers. Some think it was a Mauser contract Luger for the Kustenfliegerstafflen. Others think it was a Kreighoff rework. All I know is that their is no knowed Kreighoff proof marks that matches the Ku proof mark. Anyway I would like to know more about this Luger. And the Kustenfliegerstafflen |

tenbears, can you provide pictures, further info on all proofs?
Sounds like a pretty nice find! Any story on how the vet aquired it? Ed

Here are some more pics. In the well area their is a small u or o that is slanted into the S stamp. I have a 41/byf that only has a S stamped into it. Also if you look close their is a three dot stamp on the right side underneath the toggle assy. I belive this three dot stamp is a intial rejection stamp.

can you post some pictures of the shoulder holster? I've had limited experience with these, but Lugerdoc and Lugerholsterrepairer can certainly have some input.

Hi Johnny,
The 4 digit serial number on the grips seems to be normal for the "Ku" examples. Here is a link to my example that has all the ear marks of a "Ku" but doesn't have "Ku" stamped on it. http://lmd-militaria.com/page540.html Regards, Leon |

Trigger643,
Sorry I have already sold the holster. I'm sure it was a post war one. It had no markings and was tan. I have seen many period pictures of GI's wearing these. Usually with a Luger in it. The person I sold it too. Took some pictures of it. I will contact him and see if he would e-mail them too me. |

Hi Tenbears,
As you may have guessed, the KU in general is a version with lots of stories and not a lot of documented facts. As this one came from the Vet who brought it home, the vet's background story on how and where he obtained it can be important. Do you have any background information on this gun's origins? |

G.van.Ulimmeren,
The WW11 Vet who I bought this Ku has since passed away. His wife has also given me his medals. Silver Star,Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Service Medal. This bothers me a bit. But she insisted I take them. As with most Veteran's wife's, mine included they dont know a whole lot of what they did while in the arm services. |

tenbears, well, the medals with the gun, makes for one heck of a nice display! I think you could ask for his service record, see what the Silver Star was for? A Bronze Star can be gotten for doing something interesting but not dangerous, but usually a Silver Star is not just given away...
I asked for and received some basic info on a soldier that I had his serial number. Ed |
