Wolf spring problem.
Ok, who here can tell me the secret of installing a new Wolf main spring? I have swapped out original with minimal difficulty, but cannot seem to get a new one in! Are you supposed to cut to length? I'm no expert but I'll offer a suggestion or two. The problem I had was holding the frame and using both hands to insert spring. I screwed three blocks of wood to my workbench to make a template to hold the frame in the right spot and then could use both hands. I used a nail punch to insert in the spring guide, make sure the frame is turned the correct way up. Spring will only go in thru one side. Push it all the way up, check to be sure everything is in place, then rotate the guide and ease it down. Sounds easy, doesn't it?

Doug, I found your old email address and I sent you my steps plus pictures in an email message. I put them in about 2-5 minutes depending on how I hold my mouth and cross my eyes. I used to use a vice but know it is pretty easy, I can put a full power spring in with just a long punch, a screw driver.
