Thumbs up Hi Pete:

Glad to see you are leading this Swiss section of the forum. I think I was Luger member #13. Lucky number 13. Also born on the 13th. Looks like I'm going to own 13 Lugers.

I think I'm going to like this format once I learn how it works. I don't participate in a lot of forums so I'm not very good at this.

This is like having all your old friends back!! I am truly pleased my friend!!

Dan

Hello Dan,

I did not know I was a co-moderator for the Swiss section...

I am by no means any sort of Swiss luger expert...

Maybe I can just lend my "novice" enthusiasm to the Swiss luger section !!!

With this co-moderator assignment, I guess I need to buy more Swiss lugers...will need to break this news to my wife, Eydie...

You already have TWO of the finest Swiss Lugers ever made in your collection. Don't count yourself out. You know a LOT more than me and we starting collecting at the same time. I'm on my second book and I think you have owned and combed them all. I give you two thumbs UP! <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />

Dan I think Pete knows a heck of a lot more than he thinks!

He knows enough to call for help and he knows enough to help out on the forum.

Excellent choice for a moderator!

Hello All,

The best book "investment" I made a while back was getting the Vittorio Bobba book on the Swiss Parabellum.

It was a bit pricey at $ 100.00 (new condition) but a great book with lots of beautiful photos of "to die for" Swiss lugers. Most guns photographed came from the Bern factory museum and were never in circulation. Talk about real mint lugers !!!

The real jewel in this book was the step-by-step technical apsects of each Swiss luger (both by DWM and Bern)as they were developed. The book's easy-to-to follow details for identifying and verifying characteristics of Swiss lguer really helped me.

It is equally as useful as R. Gibson's Kreighoff luger book...

If you have an interest in Swiss lugers, buy this book and study !
