Default German holster questions

I picked up several holster from a friend, the details of which are unimportant. Suffice it to say that after a friend passed away, his widow bequeathed to me four holsters, three of which are marked. I need some help in identifying them, so anyone with holster experience, please chime right in.

They are as follows:

A holster marked "Criese Berlin 1961/7"

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...961-7front.jpg

One marked "Wunderlich Berlin 1963"

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...n1963front.jpg

And another one marked "Paul Seineck Berlin 1937"

Any help in history and value would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Steve, The first two are West German P.38/P.1 police holsters. The second is a later variation of a WWII P.38 style soft shell The third is a not familiar to me. Possibly a foreign contract holster , for an Astra 400/600? Kind of a neat old flap holster.

Thanks Ron. That's kind of what I was thinking about the first two, but if the third isn't for a Luger, it was used that way for a long time. It has markings that match up perfectly to my '39 42 code.

I was kind of hoping it was some sort of original '37 Luger holster, which would end my search for an appropriate holster for my only Luger..... I guess I'll keep looking.

I have a furth holster that has clearly been used to carry a Luger, once again I refer to the wear marks, but it is unmarked and undated. Should I assume that this one isn't original or valuable?

Also, speaking of value, what would you suppose these might be worth? I don't own any P-38s (and have no plans to buy one anytime soon) so I might sell them and give the widow the monies..... Any rough value ideas?

Steve,
The P.38 holster softshell may be in the $25-$50 range at the most. The late dropping holsters are very common, and don't hold much interest. Maybe $15- $20. The other holster could be a commercial Luger holster of some type, or private purchase.
What is the mark under the "1937"? Post a photo with the flap up, and of the back of the holster also. Is there a tool pouch under the flap? I can see some stitching on the top front.

Ron

The rest of the photos are at home Ron. I'll have to do it tonight. My camera is so-so for close-up shots, so I may have to draw that mark out for you to see. I'll check into it tonight.

Thanks for all the info.... :-)

And this is as good as I could do for a closeup of that mark...

Steve, Is it an Eagle? If so, is it clutching a Swaztika? Does your Luger fit in it correctly? Or is it loose?

Ron, I swear it's too small to see. I've put the thing under a lighted magnifying glass and I still can't make out the image. It wasn't set very well the first time, or so it seems.

One thing I might try, sitting here thinking about it, is to run it through PhotoShop and see if I can enhance the image somehow. Let me work on it.

It fits pretty well into the holster. It certainly isn't loose. And the indentations say it's held a Luger for many years, if not since it was made.

I'll see if I can't get a better image of that mark.

Ron, yes it is an eagle and I think I see the faint traces of a swastika.

Is that good or bad? :-P

There is no pouch for a tool though, which can't be good.

Steve,
I can't say that it is good or bad. The Swaztika adds mystic to it. As long as it's not a fake stamp. Some of these boosters are stamping Huggies disposable diapers with waffenamts to make a buck.
It does'nt look like a Luger holster. I'm at a loss on it. I would'nt suspect it to be a fake stamp. Considering the way it's applied. Boosters usually try to make them look too "protocol" or "PC". This does'nt have that appearance.
