Hello everyone. I am new to Lugers, but have been a collector and amateur gunsmith for about 20 years. My first Luger was a mismatched 42, 1937 with a shot out barrel. I bought it strictly as a shooter. After replacing the barrel with a new 6", and a new set of grips, it is quite a good target gun. While reworking this piece, I began to read up on Lugers and caugt the bug. I have since purchased a DWM 1918 artillery, and a DWM 1921 with unit markings. This is a great board and I look forward meeting all of you.

Hello all. It was great to find a place where serious gun lovers share information. I live in Mexico, and have two lugers, a mauser 1938 military and a 7.65 which I still have to identify. I didn't Know much about them, but now thanks to this group i just like them more because i know all the story behind this wonderful art works.

Wes (and Esteban...),
Why not have Esteban post his pistol's photos in our new non-luger firearms section, and give all LF members a chance to help him with the identity...? Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" /> |

You should have suggested that, Pete.

Hey Pete... Why the Non-Luger Firearm forum? Esteban said he had 2 LUGERS... one in each caliber? The photos could be posted right here.
In fact, please post photos of Both of your Lugers... and we will tell you what can be told of each of them... Welcome to the Lugerforum Esteban...

I suppose that I do not read closely enough. I was also of the impression that the 7.65 was non-Luger.

Wes & Pete, this is surely a condition that is aggravated by the onset of age... and a lack of sufficient caffeinated coffee in the morning before reading the forum
