Post Question on type 4 mag

What would a lower case "a" signify on the back spine of a magazine? Its a type 4 aluminum bottom mag, serial numbered. It is at the bottom right above the aluminum bottom.

Hi Mike,

Here is a link to a picture of my black plastic bottom fxo mag with the "a" stamped on the spine. I know it is a rare marking but I have never heard anyone speculate on what it means.

Leon,

That is it exactly! It is stamped on the back of the magazine from my post regarding the byf41 with two magazines numbered 1 and 2. There is question about the authenticity of the mags. Police numbered type mags, serial numbered to the gun, no sear safety.
