Default Just wanted to say Hello

This is my first post on the forum, since it's my first time be gentle. I've been collecting, buying, buiding and occasionally selling M1 Garands for a long time. I've only recently became interested in Lugers after acquiring a Nambu in a multi-gun trade. Yesterday a friend paid a debt with a 1915 DWM, military luger. I found the Luger Forum and have been scouting it out. A lot of information to learn. I'm affaird if I'm not careful Lugers could become habit forming, which is the last thing in the world I need, something else to collect.
Any way Hello to everyone, I look forward to meeting you on the forum.
Regards;
Bill

PS: I have edited the manufacturer from Erfurt to DWM.

Bill welcome; there isn'y too much fear of us not being gentle; we are a pretty nice group, although when we post, we'll give you the honest truth.

Nambu's (devloped by Col Nambu) is a good weapon, although you'll hear rumors to the contrary. Is it a large trigger guard or small trigger guard? And the date on the left side?

The 1915, we'd love to see pictures of it.

Any markings on the front gripstrap or anything unusual about it.

Hello Bill, WELCOME!! Yes, Lugers can become an illness!!

It's called Lugeritis. It takes many forms, but it isn't usually fatal (unless your wife, if you have one, does't understand).

Those of us that collect M1 Garands call it Garanditis and it's a terrible disease to catch. I don't have Garanditis and can stop collecting them any time I want, Not!

Mike, I have all four companies that made USGI Garands. I think there is about 35 in all keeping each other company in the safe. I have several in different stages of being built waiting for parts or stocks. I can stop collecting them any time I want, honest!

Bill,

I'm afraid that you have terminal Garnditis. The only hope for you is to send at least two of each to me! This will lower the Garanitis to a livable level!

Mike

There have been enough posts from members liking M1 Garands I thought you might enjoy one of my last Garand projects. This is a picture of a five digit Springfield Armory Garand which was a rusted piece of junk receiver when I started on it. The stock is a Macon Georgia Walnut stock which I fitted and finished. I'd rather build a rifle from a receiver than buy a complet rifle, everyone to his own likes and dislikes. I'm sure if I get involved in Lugers I'll try to build one. I know that's crazy but I have found the best way for me to learn how some thing works is to build one. I'm sure I'll need a lot of help to build a Luger. Garands are a piece of cake but the parts are much bigger.

Bill
