Default Grip Markings

Pulled the grips on one of my lugers and found a large M stamped on the inside of one of them. Does this mean anything?

Keith,
It's an inspector or workers mark. You can also find these various types of marks (letters and numbers) on hidden areas of the luger. They were applied at different stages of production.
