Breeze65,
* Mauser Military Type 2: Rolled tin, blued tube, bright follower, coiled spring, and alum. base plug.
* Main mag will have the P.08's full serial number including the suffix letter and a "stick winged" eagle over 63 acceptance mark. The sE/63 will be the small size. Spare mag will include the same and also have a "+" on the base plug to indicate it is the reserve mag.
* Be advised, a few suffix block S/42, 1938 Mausers were accepted by Waffen Inspector "sE/83". Mainly the "h" & "i" blocks as I remember off hand. The mags would bear this same sE/83 in that event.
* Do a forum search. Hugh (Member #15) posted pictures of mag bases showing the different size sE/63's in January. A number of threads on 1938 Mausers show mag pictures.
Respectfully,
RockinWR
Bob

Doug,
* No, a mm2 is side pinned.
* Military center pinned mags (Haenel - code 122 or fxo) generally came later. Two styles of center pins....convex or concave.
* BTW; what is the frame's S/N including suffix?? Maybe one of the members has your matched mag stuffed away in a drawer & will play Santa!!
