Please help: If muzzle device removed,
(1) If muzzle device removed, is Yugo SKS California OK ??
(2) I know that California does not recognize C&R. Besides shipping to California FFL dealer, is there any special procedure to follow? |

I don't know anything about the muzzle device, but since this SKS has only the fixed magazine, I believe it is OK. The CA DOJ assault weapons list is here.
http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/pdf/awguide.pdf I don't know what you mean about CA not recognizing C&R's. You can buy C&R rifles here in CA without a FFL. Sincerely, Marc |

I believe the Yugo SKS's muzzle device is classified as a muzzle break in CA and not a thermo-nuclear, bio terrorist, chemical dispercing, deadly flash hider.
Follow Marc's lead and make sure this device is not capable of wiping out an entire civilization in Ca. |

California does not like that grenade launcher. People even composed PDF to teach how to remove the muzzle device and sight to make it Cali-compatible.
I think I will deny the modification and the sale. Not worth my trouble. Thanks. |

Please just take it off and sell it to us poor CA people. CA liberals are afraid of the very dangerous grenade launcher. Because it is not 50+ years old you do have to send it to a FFL01. I have one with a sleeve welded over the top so the grenade will not fit. You would not have grenades to go with the gun by chance, they are hard to find.

I reviewed the procedure, removing the 22m/m grenade launcher is not a big problem, but I also need to install a muzzle brake permanently to prevent next owner to put the grenade launcher back. That will increase my cost.
Looks like the dealer who's listing many cheap $329 Yugo SKS is running out of his inventory. Mine is now falling into "market priced" category. I can wait. |
