need info about a 1906 navy commercial with holster and stockboard

Hi , I have a 1906 DWM navy luger with holster and stock , looks a commercial model B U G markings serial # 36858 .
Same number marked in stock , no markings on holster .
Have a oiler cleaning rod and the combination tool .
unfortunately original barrel was missing and changed for a 7.65mm barrel without markings , the gun looks in very good condition .
Any info are welcome .

Welcome to the Forum, and thanks very much for the information on your 1906 Navy Commercial.

A batch of 1906 Navy Commercials with stock and holster rigs, manufactured probably in 1908, were exported to South America. in 1974 thirteen of these guns were reported from Uruguay, in the range between sn 34027 and sn 37229. Also in this range are found: a Luger marked to J. Canedo, a dealer in Argentina; a Luger engraved and purportedly presented to Jose F. Alcorta (Argentina President 1905-1910); and a number of serial numbers of Lugers reported as registered by the DFAE (Civilian Police of Rio de Janeiro).

Although the date of export is not known, if the Alcorta Luger is authentic it would place the export date between 1908-1910.

It would be useful to know some additional information about your Luger. Is the thumb safety area stamped GESICHERT, SEGURO, or is it polished steel? Is the extractor stamped GELADEN or CARGADO?

Do you have any paper documentation or knowledge of the Luger's original dealer or ownership trail?

The photo of the holster and stock is very tantalizing. We would all certainly like to see more pictures if you could post the.

Thanks Dwight for your fast and accurate reply , I purchased the gun in uruguay , extractor is marked geladen and safety lever gesichert .
Juan Canedo was well know dealer in guns and sporting goods in buenos aires he marked the guns with his name and address in buenos aires
J. CANEDO RIVADAVIA 611 Bs AIRES .
Later the the canedo gun shop change his name for ARMERIA LA PORTEÃ??A with a new owner ALFREDO GOTTLING .
