Default No date police luger

I was visiting a friend and he mentioned that his uncle left him a luger and wanted to know what it was and worth. I am not up on police Lugers so I did my best but would like any thoughts about the gun.

It is all matching except magazines and the toggle pin is not numbered.

I think you have a 1929 Police luger.
They serial number looks like 3137 t to me.

The blank toggle must be a replacement part.

It looks like the magazine safety was removed - that slot looks welded up to me.

It's in the correct serial number range to have a blank toggle. What some folks call a "sneak" police. The slot in the frame is open, not welded. Looks like a nice gun. Pretty Luftwaffe sword as well. The grip strap is marked for the Landjagerei police in Kassel, gun number 156.

Kinda like this one. Strap marked for Landjagerei Merseburg.

The Luger is generally referred to as a "Rif" Luger which were part of a cancelled contract from a rebel group in Morocco. Most were diverted to police use and can be distinguished by an unmarked toggle, right receiver army WaA66 acceptance (c/N civilian proof left receiver) and Alphabet Commercial t and u suffix serial numbers. I believe the rear toggle pin would not be numbered but the original.
