My load data for 9x19 for P08 and C96
Hello @all,
I am loading a .356 124grain copper plated RN bullet from LOS before 4,5 gr. of N340 VV powder. Using CCI 500 primer and OAL 28,5mm. I apply a good bell to the cartridge mouth so that the bullet will sit on the case mouth without assistance from my fingers, before seating the bullet. Then applying a taper crimp. What are you thinking about? Last edited by chr; 07-06-2019 at 03:35 PM. |

This is just me:
I prefer real jacketed bullets from Precision Delta over ANY plated bullets. In bulk, they are the same or even cheaper than plated. That could be a max load. Did you work up to it from a start load of 4.0-4.2gn? If you have to use plated bullets, be sure to seat and crimp a bullet, pull it, and ensure that the plating is not dented or the bullet diameter swaged down. There should be NO crimp marks or change in diameter. |

May be I can help you a bit. O.A.L for a round nose 9mm .356 bullet should be at 29.8 mm, per the original DWM Owners Manual. Crimp just enough to flatten the brass to the bullet. N340 is in the appropriate medium/slow burning range for a Luger. 4.7 grains of N340 will yield 1,096 fps from a 4 inch test barrel. The original German Army load was a 123 grain bullet at 1,076 fps from a 100 mm (4 inch) barrel. For a better understanding of how to make a Luger shoot accurately and without jamming, please read my Sticky, in this reloading section, on ...Determining Proper Cartridge O.A.L... . It should assist you with your efforts greatly. Good shooting, Sieger |
