Does anyone have any information on a brown Luger holster marked Wilhelm Brandt Heidelberg 1939? It is also marked with the Nazi Waffenamt and is in almost new condition. I acquired this holster along with an S/42 1937 date Mauser Luger in 1960 for the princely sum of $40. The Luger is in very good condition with all matching numbers and some straw coloring but the bore is rough. Any info on this holster would be appreciated.

That is the makers name in the city of Heidelberg and year made

Is it an army or police style?

I am by no means an holster expert, but I think it would be quite interesting to see some photos of that holster together with your S/42 just to have an idea of it.

Does this work? I tried using manage attachments but I couldn't figure out how to reduce the pictures to the small size so that they would upload.

open the photos one at a time in microsoft office photo manager and click on Edit photos. One of the options is photo size by percentage.

You are attempting to load the photos from Photobucket. Try uploading the jpeg images directly from your hard drive.

P.S. Name on the holster is Brand--not Brandt. Sorry, my mistake.

WilH.Brand manufactured leather goods in Heidelberg, per the marking on your holster. They also made map cases and other goods.

The WaffenAmt office inspector was WaA/204, and was active at this factory several years:

WaA204 jvf W. Brand
Heidelberg 1936,38,39,41

"jvf" was their military concealment code.

The Luger was military accepted, so was probably not in police service.

To mrerick: I assume from what you're saying that this is a police holster, not military. Would any other branches of the government such as railway police or guards have been issued brown holsters? I have a general idea of the value of the holster and pistol combo, but I would appreciate some input on this from the forum members.

This is a military holster not police. WW2 military holsters are found in brown color. Bill
