Default Combining shooting and photography

Another of my hobbies is photography.
I'm using a regular DSL digital camera and this picture is a result of a capture frequency 199 pr second.
To synchronize the picture and the shot, I had to shoot excatly in the very beginning of the 2/5 of a second it takes to capture the Luger's cycle 40 times. Difficult even for a cowboy like me So I wasted quite a lot of ammo on this little project..

Steinar that is nice.

I saw a movie with gloves like this, something about mafia hitmen in Chicago?

Steinar,

Just remember to keep straight which item you are using to "shoot" which item!

Ed, beeing a mafia hitman in Chicago is more of a second job for me rather than hobby
Shooting with gloves is a little spooky with a luger, not much space around the trigger. But even Santa wear gloves when outside in the winter, so I took my chances this time.

To avoid reflections from the flash, the camera is pointing upwards against the sky and I'm shooting 'getto-style' above it. It was captured in 10MP RAW format, so it should be able to capture it clear up to poster size. But since it's 40 images in one, the luger looks unclear.. Perhaps going down to 20 with the same frequency will do the trix. But the human factor will be too old, grumpy and slow to syncronice it.. Perhaps a sound activated switch or some other neat thing to activate the camera?

Steinar,
Just one shot... but it looks like a Luger that went full auto.
Mike C.

PS. Obviously a night sky in the background. Your neighbors must adore you.

Merry Christmas to you too Dave!

(You came up with a good idea btw.. made me regret deleting all those failed pictures that was clear but without the 'action'. Snaped a few pictures of the Luger on a black background just now. I have photoshop myself, so I may give it a try later )

All the best,
Steinar

Speaking of photography and shooting, the P.08 sequence on Kurzzeit clearly showed the punishment Luger brass takes.

Could that be changed by altering the extractor or ejector?

The camera Casio Exilim Pro EX-F1 where recently released. Looks like an an amazing camera, low price also!
It can take video recordings in 1200 frames pr second (at the lowest 336x96 pixel resulotion), but more impressive is that it can take 60 pictures pr second @ 6MP. The shortest shutter time of 1/8000second (twice as fast as most DLS's), it could be a great camera for capturing the Luger's toggle in action if you just use enough light
I'm not writing from experience, have 'invested' to much in another camera to buy another. Perhaps it could be of interest to someone here.

There is more to read about it if you google it up..

After a some photoshopping, this is what I ended up with;

I tried to take a better picture, using stroboscope in the same way. But just made a lot of holes in the air. Perhaps I will try to use some sort of sound activated swich and a single flash next time
