A new Mauser??

I have the oppertunity to buy a new (never fired) Mauser Luger; I was told that it was made in the 70s by Mauser and imported by Interarns.. it has made in Germany on the back of the frame and a US eagle on the front of the frame just behind the barrel... What is it and is it worth $795.00

Mauser did indeed make Lugers in the 1970's. If you go to the resources link to the left and look at Simpson's web page under Lugers/ Interarms you will see that prices start at about $1300 and go up from there. Your price looks very good. What caliber and barrel length is it?

My recommendation would be to buy.

It's a 9mm and the barrel is longer than my DWM 1915 it looks to be 7 to 8 inches long.

I also forgot to say it has the grip saftey, and is in the original box with a cleaning tool and loading tool and spare magazine.

Hi Tony,

I would say go for it, I have not seen one go for less than about $1000.- in a while, and they are frequently listed for as much as 1500.- .

Check www.simpsonltd.com, they have 7or 8th at the high end.

Hi Tony,

The postwar Mauser Parabellum is gaining more and more collector interest. As it's the 'last real Mauser' and there is very little chance that Mauser will be tempted to produce something like it again, especially the unfired, boxed pistols will become more popular.

I'd say the top end of 'post war collector versions of the Mauser Parabellum' are:
-Unfired pistols with original box, documents and accessories.
-Limited edition versions.
-Factory prototypes and one-offs.

Nice to see this come up. I just got a call from a local dealer and that knows I like the lugers. He referred me to a person who inherited his fathers collection of Mausers. The description from his memory is
2-3", 2-4", 2-6" barreled lugers.
Some are 9mm and consecutive numbered. All are new in box with targets. He did not know the current price, and was not in a big hurry to sell but wanted them to go to some one who would appreciate the guns. He mention he wanted a fair price. Any help is appreciated. I can not buy them all so if interested I could provide your name to the person.
