It has something to do with the way Ebay assigns URL's to their items.

Just do a standard ebay search for WORLD OF LUGERS, and you will see all FOUR books that are currently available... Don't expect 3 of these these books to close the auction for short money... ... the fourth will be $354.00 since it is BUY IT NOW only.

--Remember. there were only 500 copies of this book printed.

John, I think that there were actually 1,000 of them printed, one set of 500 was signed only, the other set of 500 was signed and also had an impression stamp along with the signature.

Herb, must be something wrong with that logic... because my previous copy was an autographed book ... I imagine that it was one of the first 500 that were signed...because it was stamped Copy XXX of 500... My current copy has no autograph...and no stamp. The copies were virtually identical in construction and content... the only difference was the signature by Sam...

My copy has only the autograph. My suggestion to people that really want/need this book is not to hope for a bargain to show up but to bite the bullet and get it now. At the rate things are going, next year it will be over $400 and the year after that over $500.

John, as Ron's, mine is only signed by Sam, there is no xx of xx anywhere. I was at the old LA Great western show and Sam and Ralph we picking them out of a box of about 25. I remember debating with myself over spending $35 for the book...I think it was $35, wish I had bought the whole box....

Mine is signed and embossed just below the author's signature, was printed in 1977, and it does not have the xx of xx serialization...

I was in shock when I had to pay $ 185 at Tulsa 2 years ago...glad I did, nowdays...

John, My first one has only the signature, the other the signature and the embossing stamp on the first inside red page and the embossing stamp again on page 3 without the signature. Neither has any XX of XX copies and both are copywrited 1977. I recall discussing this difference with Ralph Shattuck at one of the Reno shows and he told me the first printing of 500 had only the signature and the second 500 had the signature and the stamp, or maybe the other way around, we're both getting older by the day but I'm pertty sure that is what he said. I think you have his email addy?
