"strawing" IS...
Strawing is the gold type of finish that is on some of the parts of a Luger (depending on when it was manufactured and by whom) like the safety lever and trigger and takedown levers. Forum member Ted Green runs a Strawing Service for restoration of Lugers that have lost their straw colors.
It is a controlled heat temperature process that is applied to freshly polished metal. Do a search on "straw" (see the link at the the top of the main discussion page) and you will find more than one thread with an good explanation of how it is done and probably a couple of example photos. regards, John |
