Default Well it shoots pretty good for an old gun.

Just took my first luger to the pistol range, and shot it. Gotta say I'm fairly well impressed by how well it performs for being as old as it is. I must have put 80 rounds through it, and I only had 2 hangups.

I had one round fail to extract after firing, but cleared it and it operated fine.

And I had one that got stuck in the action when it ejected.

But I've honestly seem worse performance out of newer guns, haven't quite gotten the feel for the sight picture on it yet, especially being an indoor gun range the sights are kind of hard to line up, and feels like it shoots a little high, but this very well may just be me.

I gotta say I'm a big fan of the slant grip on the thing. I don't know how to really describe it other than the angle makes it feel very intuitive to line up on the target.

Took it home stripped it and gave it a good cleaning afterwords.

Hi John,
Lugers were usually sighted in at 50 meters at the factory, which I'm sure was much longer than would be possible on your indoor range. It was even longer on early P08's, Navies and Artillery models which were sighted in at 100 meters!

Default cure?

Start with replacing the extractor spring and the magazine spring, probably cure both malfunction issues... I have Lugers that have fired many 100's of rounds, with out any malfunction of any kind? Oh, until you get it figured out, use WW target / range, 115 gr. ball ammo... give yourself a fighting chance at curing it... best, til....lat'r....GT
