Need a little help removing barrel
I have googled numerous "P08 disassembly" sites and ALL begin with locking the toggle back before releasing the locking lever. My 1911 DWM toggle will not lock in the rearward position; I think it doesn't have the hold-back feature.
How do I proceed to disassemble without having the toggle locked back? Thanks |

Take the gun and push the muzzle against a firm but non-marring surface, (I simply use the palm of my hand), gun unloaded, of course!. While the entire upper receiver is pushed back, flip the disassembly lever down then follow normal take down instructions..
The old timers have a trick where they hold the gun, thumb across the backstrap and all other fingers grasping the top. You can pull the top back far enough with this method to flip down the lever as well.. |

Hi,
Simply grip the toggle knobs with one hand, and pull the toggle/receiver backwards by pushing the palm of your hand against the back of the pistol. That will give you enough space to lower the takedown level at the same time. The toggle doesn't need to open for disassembly, you only need to move the receiver a few mm back in order to be able to turn the takedown lever downwards. |

I have a little problem
Got it apart OK. As advertised.
When putting it back together, I can't get the disassembly lever to push far enough into its slot to clear it for rotation. The tip end doesn't want to go through the hole on the right side of the frame. Only needs several more MM. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks again. |

There is a small "L" shaped spring, which is located under where the lever lies within the gun's frame. It serves to keep the lever from falling out. Make sure that little bent, wire spring is firmly in the slot under where the lever will go.
Make sure there is no debris or other obstructions. Sometimes, there is a slight resistance the last few mms. If all else is clean and in its place. Make sure the tip end of the lever is lined up well with the exit hole on the far side of the frame and giggle it a bit while pushing through. It should snap into place. Obviously, don't force anything that simply does not want to go. |

Thanks Alanint
Will give it a go. Pushed on it with my fingers pretty hard. Will scope out the spring first and see what is going on.
Report back later. |

Got it!
Pushing the end of the spring down into its slot a tad when sliding the disassembly lever in place did the trick. Many thanks again.
