The Iron Cross Luger Again
Once again the American Rifleman has a full page ad for 500 rehashed "Iron Cross Lugers" at $3195 each (page 5, American Rifleman, January, 2002 issue). These are specified as genuine "prewar/wartime" 9mm Lugers. I notice that all the matching numbers have been removed, so it is highly probable that these have been pieced together out of piles of parts. I also notice that the grips have been replaced with modern uncheckered versions. And lastly, the magazine is a postwar reproduction. Now all this makes me wonder what happened to around 500 pairs of original grips and magazines? Who has them, and what are they going to do with them?

Re: Iron Cross P38
Now if they were $195.00, I'd get one!
But since they are a bit more than I'd want to spend... yah, right. Ed |

P-38
Wonder what quality reproduction Iron Cross he is including in this sale. The IC were never numbered, so what is the "value" of numbering one to the gun? His profit margin for each P-38 sold was be incredible, considering what he is asking for the gun, IC and the number box. This guy gives military collecting a bad name.
