Post Two questions.....

Hi neighbors...

1.) I was thinking of getting a C&R License. Is it worth the trounle and are there any pitfalls??

2.) Is Simpson LTD a decent place to buy firearms? Is their service good? Their rating of firearm condition reliable, etc?

Thanx,
BOGEYB

1.) Go to the web site Cruffler.com. This site will answer any questions you may have. There are kits offered there that will help you do it right. I have had a C&R for about 4 months and it does make the purchase of collectables easier.
2.) I have purchased a Luger from Simpson and have found that they are honest in their presentation, a little high on price but in this world you get what you pay for. I was actually steared away from one of their Lugers by one of their own sales people as a bad choice for an investment, so when I had the money for the Luger that I wanted I went back and purchased it from them. Good Hunting, Craig

All,

Have known and done a great deal of business with Bob Simpson over many years. Honest as the day is long and they stand behind what they sell; as a dealer I highly recommend him.

Bogeyb, forget about buying one of those 'kits' to get a ccr license. If you can read english and fill in the info you can do it yourself. Click on this link and print out the form and supply the other info and then mail it off with your $30 dollars. Yes having a class 3 license makes it a lot easier to buy Lugers, or other things covered by the license, no waiting period, buy interstate, buy at gunshows etc. If there is a pitfall I would have to say it is the requirement to log all of your purchases in a 'bound book' and you will be prohibited from 'dealing', meaning you can only sell a weapon 'occasionally' to enhance your collection.

Another pitfall I've encountered all too frequently is the ignorant dealer who won't take a C&R license because they don't understand the thing. Nor will they take the time or make the effort to educate themselves. It's cost more than one "dealer" a sale as I usually just walk away. Trying to explain how the C&R works usually ends up an argument as they refuse to even attempt to understand.

Doubs, you could always print out the page (or two) of the ATF regs and print it on the back of the C&R license you carry in your wallet?

But, yes, dealing with ignoramuses can be daunting.
