Dok's Luger-A Range Report
Replaced most of the springs. The Darn thing is in the white, most of the bluing has been stripped off. Taking it to the tulees today to fire that sucker off and see if it behaves and doesn't machine gun again. Possibly a very weak sear spring was partly to blame. Did a lot of internal polishing today so it really moves much better than before. Here is a pic of the white Luger.

Re: Dok's Luger-The Report
Well, Dok, I think the surgery was a success. This little "jewel" would machine gun and had closing problems occasionly. It didnt fail to feed, shooting slow or fast today after some intense rework of the mechanism by me. It didnt fail to eject, it didnt fail to fire. It didnt go auto on me. I can happily tell you Dok, it will just need a little cleaning then final metal prep, one of two nights on that work, then off to the bluers. I worked on it most of today and it would appear the efforts worked! Ted

Re: YEA!!!!!
I hope my Double Date that Ted is working on will operate OK when he test fires it. I have had this pistol for several years and wanted to get rid of the dip blue and make it look like it did when it was new.
One question on the Double Dates. Were all of them reworked when the property mark was added? I know mine had to be at some point becasue there was a regimental mark on the front grip strap that was removed. The reason I know this is true is there is the company and pistol number still stamped on the rear of the frame above the lanyard loop. Do you feel this rework was done at a local regimental armory?
