It won't help determine anything other than hopefully eliminating any problem that could come from bad or weak ammo. I will look at the ejector tomorrow. Could the clip be allowing the next round to come up too far? This could potentially stop the spent casing and force the extractor up into a wedged position? Would it be worth trying a different clip as a first step?
