Default Witnessed a truly sad luger this weekend

Around the gun show I am the "Luger guy". While I am not a complete expert having collected them for years I have lots of knowledge stuck in my brain.
Anyway a guy brought me a byf 41 rig to look at. It was all matching in the white and looked like someone then painted it silver! Now the really sad part is that it had 2 matching mags and the 1939 police holster was mint as were the black plastic grips. I advised him to get a hold of Ted to restore it as it could only help the value. Told him that is why nice condition guns are worth so much! He paid $1300 for the gun. So the grips are $200 and the holster an easy $300+ $900-1000 for a shooter. He did ok.
