Just so you can hear this from more than one source..the Luger has no hammer. That would probably put it in the hammerless class of pistols. It is fired by spring tension on a cocked firing pin. I have had many of them apart, understand the firing mechanism and, lo and behold, no hammers. Don't need no steenkin hammerz.
