Ron, yes, it's a silencer made by a company called Alm. It works quite well, but wish it was a bit lighter.
There is no registration or fee to purchase silencers over here, can't see why it should be?
It has become more and more common to mount silencers on regular hunting rifles to prevent hearing injury. Also not to disturb neighbors and gain a softer recoil.
..you never get a 30.06 quiet, but it helps. I use the middle one on this site when hunting deer
