If the lock is well made there is not much of a delay at all with a flint.... I can fire this rifle upside down and it ignites perfectly and quickly. Much of that depends upon proper flint napping. You can get a good 20 rounds off prior to a quick in place/in the **** napping.
It is also extremely accurate and will button hole multiple rounds.

The Brits were afraid of these rifles for a reason.
