On the upper end of the rough scale on this example for sure .
Still normal though .
The precision machining tolerances may have dictated that this was the point to stop removing material .

Remember this 10,000 luger order was nothing more than a showcase of HK's precision skills .

Aircraft machine guns and etc was what they were after .
