Maybe not lacking the quality of its predecessors from the 60s, the La- and Ep-22s. The KGP series were constructed
mostly of steel, save the cast Zamak trigger and--unfortunately--the grip frame.
I've heard that cast zinc alloy becomes more brittle over time. It might explain why one of mine began to crack along the front part of the frame, beginning at a sharp inside corner in the slot into which the upper slides. I had it micro-welded by Jim French. Then it happened again to another KGP68A .380. I think I'll stick to shooting the smaller calibers in Ermas from now on.
